二、导思： 动词- ing 形式和动词﹣ ed 形式作表语

1．动词-ing 形式可以在句中用作表语，常用来表示主语所具有的特征。如：

The novel is inspiring.

2. 动词-ed 形式可以在句中用作表语，说明主语的状态。如：

We were excited to hear the news .

2.  动词-ing 形式作表语，常修饰物；动词﹣ ed 形式作表语，常修饰人。如：

The story is touching.

We were amazed at the sight.

3.  动词-ing 形式和动词-ed 形式作表语时动词色彩常常被淡化，后面通常不能跟宾语，但可以用 very,

greatly 等表示程度的副词对其进行修饰。如：

The football match was very exciting.

She is greatly pleased with the results.

4.  有时动词-ing 形式表示主语所指的内容，这时动词- ing 形式仍然可以带有逻辑主语或者宾语。如：

My aim is everybody’s having a good time.

My job is teaching primary school students.

三、导学：掌握核心词汇用法

1. shade    n.

I wondered at the skill of the artists, their use of colors and how they played with light and shade.

我惊叹于艺术家的技巧，他们对色彩的使用，以及他们如何巧妙利用光影。

（1）阴影部分；暗部    use strong contrasts of light and shade 利用明暗的强烈对比

（2）背阴处，背阴→shady a. 在背阴处的 sit in the shade 坐在阴凉处

（3）色度，色调   a deep shade of green 深绿色 twelve shades of green  12种色度不同的绿色

（4）使....黯然失色；相形见绌 put sb in the shade 使我相形见绌

Don't cut down the tree that gives you shade. 不可忘恩负义。

shadow “阴影;影子”,指因挡住光线而形成的阴影。shade “荫;背阴处”,指任何遮住阳光的地方。

be in/under the shadow of sth.处在……的阴影中

cast/throw a shadow on/over给……投下阴影/影子

beyond/without a shadow of a doubt无疑;毫无疑问                                     

2. bathe    Vt./Vi.

(1)  以（光线）洒满

bathe the village in brilliant light使村庄沐浴在灿烂的阳光里 be bathed in the sunlight沐浴在阳光里

(2)  用水清洗

bathe his infected finger in the water 把感染的手指放在手中 bathe the wound / cut with …用…清洗伤口

(3)  洗澡

bathe the newborn daughter 给刚出生的女儿洗澡

3. touch    n.

（1）风格      an artistic touch 艺术风格

（2）润色      put finishing touches to....给....做最后的润色

（3）少许，一点儿    a touch of sth....少许，一点儿

keep/stay/be in touch (with sth.)了解某事 get in touch with...和……取得联系

lose touch with...和……失去联系 be in touch with...和……有联系

be out of touch with不了解;失去联系

4. be reduced to (to 为介词，后接V-ing)

reduce sth to sth 使....陷入境地

reduce sb to doing sth 迫使某人沦落到某种地位

reduce sb to tears 使某人流泪

5. wage     vt. 开始，发动(运动，战争等)；

wage war against .....对.....发动战争

The government is determined to wage a war against poverty and disease. 政府下决心要进行一场消灭贫穷和疾病的斗争。

6. campaign   n. (宣传)活动，(政治/商业/社会)运动；战役；

start/begin/launch/wage/organize/run a campaign for/against…发起/开展支持或反对…的运动

v. 发起运动，参加运动   campaign to do sth.

campaign for/against…    发起运动支持或反对…的

→ campaigner n. 运动领导者，经验丰富的活动家

She launched a publicity campaign to promote her new book.

她发起了一场宣传活动来宣传她的新书。

They are campaigning to save the area from building development.
